Montserrat’s governor issues new statement on ongoing volcanic situation
This statement follows on from that made by the Governor on 6 March, when she said that the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) had produced a report about the risks to the community from the Soufriere Hills volcano.

New volcanic activity in Montserrat prompts mandatory evacuation order
The onset of explosive activity from Montserrat's Soufriere Hills volcano has caused the country’s Governor to declare a mandatory evacuation for affected communities and extend the exclusion zone to include the new areas that are now unsafe to enter.

Montserrat's tourism sector open for business following weekend volcanic dome collapse
Montserrat is open for tourism business following the collapse of the lava dome at the Soufriere Hills Volcano on Saturday May 20th, 2006. Director of Tourism of the Montserrat Tourist Board, Ms. Ernestine Cassell said that the tourism businesses in the north are fully operational and most establishments in the affected areas should be back to normal in the next week.

Montserrat volcano first explosion in two years
On Tuesday, June 28, 2005, the Montserrat Soufriere Hills Volcano produced its first explosive eruption, since the most powerful eruption recorded on July 13, 2003 according to the Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO).
