BVI Disaster Management Council to focus on climate change
Throughout the month of May and into Environment Month in June, the Public Information and Education (PIE) sub-committee of the National Disaster Management Council of the British Virgin Islands will focus on climate change and its impact on the Territory.

DDM moves towards the completion of the CDM Strategy and DM Policy
The Department of Disaster Management is well on its way to completing a 5-year Comprehensive Disaster Management Strategy. Comprehensive Disaster Management is a proactive approach to disaster management that places greater emphasis on reducing risks before disasters strike. Its success depends on taking a strong results-based approach, the clear setting of priorities and effective monitoring of outputs.

DDM Explanation Of Seismic Activity
The recent earthquakes that were felt throughout the British Virgin Islands originated in the Sombrero Seismic Zone, which is located between 18.5–19.0 north latitude, according to reports issued by the Puerto Rico Seismic Network.
