The skies are clearing up over most parts of the country with limited rains coming down. But the effects that the waters have brought with them were evident yesterday with the flooding of areas in the Cayo district. Because of that flooding at least 6 persons had to evacuate their homes. In the village of St. Matthews at mile 39 on the Western Highway, a grandmother and her 5 grandchildren had to evacuate their home after waters began to rise. While they were able to reach to safety, so too did a man from a home in Las Flores Village outside of Belmopan. He had reportedly gone missing but has since returned home after moving to higher grounds in fear of rising waters.

Reports now are the waters are returning back to normal but authorities are still keeping an eye out for rains and any possible recurrence of floods.

And in flood related news the Ministry of health is advising the public is affected areas to boil or chlorinate water that comes from a questionable supply as well as not to venture into flooded areas without protective clothing and not to eat dying fish found in flood waters.
