Tortola, BVI, August 29, 2006 (Department of Disaster Management) -  The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International has awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Award to Sharleen DaBreo, Director of the BVI Department of Disaster Management in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of a better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.

The Rotary Club of Road Town recognizes outstanding citizens in the BVI community and in its club with a Paul Harris Fellow Award.  The presentation of Paul Harris Fellow is the Rotary Foundation's way of expression appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs.  It is named for the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris, and a Chicago Lawyer who started Rotary International with three business associates in 1905.

Rotarians often designate a Paul Harris Fellow as a tribute to a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives of the Rotary Foundation.
