Earthquake southeast of Saint Lucia

St. Augustine, March 29, 2007 (Seismic Research Unit,UWI) - On Thursday morning 29th March at 1:25 a.m. local time, an earthquake occurred about 80km southeast of Saint Lucia. The preliminary location for the event is 13.60°N 60.20°W. The event was reported as felt widely in Saint Lucia. There have been no reports of damage or injuries thus far.

The picture to the right shows the location of the earthquake.  The focal depth was approximately 10 km.  The preliminary magnitude is 4.4. Please note that these results are preliminary and may vary slightly when additional data is processed.
