Belize gets OAS donation to help recovery effort after deadly floods
The Organization of American States (OAS) on Monday delivered a $25,000 donation towards reconstruction efforts in Belize in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Arthur, which this past May 28 brought severe flash floods that left four people dead and one still missing.

Belize Tourism Industry Association to host 4th Annual Hurricane Preparedness Workshop
The 2007 hurricane season, already predicted to be an above average, very active season is well underway. The outlook calls for a very high likelihood of an above-normal hurricane season, with 13-17 named storms, 7-10 hurricanes, and 3-5 major hurricanes.

Regional partners for disaster management coordinate
This morning Coordinator of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency Jeremy Collymore; David Smith, General Secretary of the Centre for the Coordination for the Prevention of National Disasters in Central America, and Belize's Lt. Colonel George Lovell from the National Emergency Management Organization chaired a meeting in Belize City to devise strategy and implementation techniques.

NEMO(Belize), CDERA prepare for hurricane season
Devastating hurricanes were probably the farthest thing from most Belizeans minds as they enjoyed the beautiful weather over the Easter holidays. But in just a few weeks the season will be on us again. Flood waters receding across Belize
The skies are clearing up over most parts of the country with limited rains coming down. But the effects that the waters have brought with them were evident yesterday with the flooding of areas in the Cayo district.
