BVI Department of Disaster Management launches summer programme
The Department of Disaster Management is launching its first summer programme. The Summer Exploration Programme is designed to offer a wealth of education in the area of disaster preparedness. As a part of the programme students will learn VHF and HF radio operations, arts and crafts, video and audio capture and editing and hazard safety.

Active 2008 Hurricane season expected says Colorado State University team
The Colorado State University team of forecasters led by Phillip Klotzbach has issued updated predictions for the 2008 Atlantic Hurricane Season. “Information obtained through March 2008 indicates that the 2008 Atlantic Hurricane Season will be much more active than the average 1950-2000 season; we estimate 15 named storms, 8 hurricanes, and 4 intense hurricanes of category 3, 4, or 5.” says Mr. Klotzbach.
