Cruise ship fire update

Kingston, Jamaica. March 23, 2006 (ODPEM) - The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management has been advised that the Star Princess Cruise is currently docked in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Two (2) persons are hospitalized at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay while two persons are in the ships hospital.  The Ministry of Health has completed its emergency response and has teams on location to provide psychological and trauma counseling to the remaining passengers where necessary.

Rooms at local hotels have been identified to relocate passengers, where necessary.
