Grenadians urged to remain calm and follow progress of newest tropical depression

St Georges, Jul 11, 2005 (NaDMA) - The National Disaster Management Agency, NaDMA is urging the Grenadian public to be aware of but do not panic as the weather systems evolve during the hurricane season.
NaDMA wishes to give every assurance that it is monitoring weather patterns in conjunction with the Meteorological office at the Point Salines International Airport, which is the official provider of weather forecasts.
In a release issued on Monday, (July 11, 2005), NaDMA said that is has been advised by the Met office about the formation of the fifth tropical depression, to the East of Grenada and the other Windward Islands.
Director, Sylvan Mc Intyre stresses that his office has been monitoring and continues to monitor the situation closely with the assistance of the team of forecasters at the point Salines International Airport.
NaDMA urges the public against panicking.
The agency advises that persons should pay attention to the information provided, re-assess their individual levels of preparedness, and take the necessary steps to ensure that they are in a good position to respond adequately to the advisories which may be issued from time to time.
