Kingston, Nov 15, 2005 (ODPEM) - The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is advising the public to avoid using the Bog Walk Gorge as the water has now exceeded critical levels as reported by the Water Resources Authority (WRA).

This means that the roadway is now inundated rendering the road impassable.   Motorists are therefore being advised to use the alternative routes.

The ODPEM has also received a report that the Mount Industry to Long Hill Road in St. Catherine is blocked by a landslide and is now impassable.  The alternative route to Bog Walk is through Freedom.

There is also a series of landslides along the Castleton to Junction Road in St. Mary. Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution.
