Tropical Depression #27 has affected St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Heavy rains commenced on Sunday, September 13th, 2005 at approximately 13:15pm and is continuing, resulting in numerous landslides and flooding. The Met Office has reported 116mm of rain during the last 24 hr period. The flooding has been mainly concentrated in the South and West of the Island. On the Grenadine Island of Bequia, two fishermen are reported missing (presumed dead) after a landslide buried the cave in which they were seeking shelter. The electric and water companies are reporting small pockets of communities without services.

Overnight and early morning rains resulted in flooding at the main hospital (Milton Cato Memorial Hospital) where several ground floor wards had to be relocated temporarily.
The E. T. Joshua airport flooded shortly after 5am this morning hence delaying opening until 1300 this afternoon.
Communities have been very active in conducting initial damage assessments and reporting to NEMO.
