Actions Taken:
The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard has deployed a Search and Rescue (SAR) team to the Mafeking and Chrysostom Trace in Mayaro Rio Claro Corporation to relocate persons affected by floodwaters. These persons will be taken out of the impacted area and taken to the homes of relatives and friends.
The Penal Debe Regional Corporation is at this time assessing the needs of approximately 30 families.
The Ministry of Social Development is verifying reports and will be organising relief supplies for victims of floods.
The ODPM’s partially activated National Emergency Operating Centre (EOC) will continue operations on a skeleton staff.
