Earthquake shakes Virgin Islands
A minor earthquake measuring a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale was felt in the Virgin Islands at 6:39 early this morning. The Puerto Rico Seismic Research Unit instruments located the epicenter of the earthquake at 18.56-north latitude and 65.03-west longitude, or 25 km north-northwest of St. Thomas USVI.

Another earthquake shakes the Virgin Islands
The Puerto Rico Seismic Network is reporting another earthquake in the Virgin Islands region in less than a week. A minor earthquake measuring a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale was reported to have been felt in St. Thomas, St. John and the BVI at 12:23am.

A minor earthquake measuring a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale was felt in some areas of Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. John, and the British Virgin Islands at 12:10am.

BVI Flooding: Fuel spill contained at Pasea ... more rain expected
Shortly after 9 am this morning a gas leak at the Delta Petroleum Gas Station adjacent to the Purcell Estate junction was reported to the Department of Disaster Management (DDM). It is reported that the tank cover came undone due to flooding in the area. While containing the situation a second tank cover came undone, which further compounded the problem. Officials have managed to contain the spill and it is being stored in secured areas in Fish Bay and West End.

BVI Flooding: Statement by the Chief Minister
Statement by Chief Minister Honourable Dr D Orlando Smith on heavy rainfall overnight which has resulted in flooding in several areas on Tortola and throughout the Territory. The weather system which has produced intermittent periods of heavy rain across parts of the region will continue through out the day. Local residents and visitors are therefore urged to remain alert to the rapidly changing weather conditions for the next couple of days.
